Description

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) will host the "Recent Developments in Stochastic Analysis" workshop in Oaxaca, from May 24 to May 29, 2026.

Probability theory focuses on the mathematical study of random events and phenomena. Many of these phenomena, particularly those evolving continuously over time, can be effectively modeled using stochastic processes or random fields. Stochastic analysis, a vibrant branch of probability theory, equips researchers with a diverse toolkit to investigate and understand these processes and fields.

The workshop titled "Recent Developement in Stochastic Analysis" aims to gather internationally recognized experts in stochastic analysis alongside junior researchers. The primary objectives are to identify crucial future research directions within the field and to promote meaningful exchange between different generations of researchers.

The Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, and the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) in Banff, are collaborative Canada-US-Mexico ventures that provide an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station in Banff is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and Alberta Technology and Innovation. The research station in Oaxaca is funded by UNAM and IIMAS.
