Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the “IMO team summer training camp” summer school in Banff from June 30 - July 13, 2024.

The top 6 Canadian high school mathletes are training at BIRS in preparation for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Selected by their results on several competitions throughout the school year, the team is preparing to travel to the United Kingdom to compete against students from over 100 other countries. The two week training camp features lectures, problem sessions, and mock olympiads, designed to emulate the conditions of the IMO.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada’s Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and Alberta’s Advanced Education and Technology.
