Participant Testimonials
The workshop was a great opportunity to learn from colleagues that are conducting very interesting research in multiple areas of Mathematics. In my own filed of applied mathematics, I was able to identify colleagues with similar research interest. We are working on establishing a close collaboration with workshop participants in the field of Uncertainty Quantification in Mathematical Epidemiology.
The workshop taught me about Santillana's work on epidemics, which gave me ideas to apply in research work with students. I find it very interesting to know the diversity of Mexican mathematicians worldwide. Thanks to contacts I would not have otherwise had, I learned I could apply for a scholarship from the Solomon laboratory for a short exchange to France. In addition, I liked Érika Roldán's games and citizen science applications because they are an easy dissemination tool. Additionally, the discussion panels allowed me to better understand the community's points of view on inclusion and job search.
