Description
The Banff International Research Station will host the "The Voganish Project" workshop in Banff from July 11, 2019 to July 18, 2019.
The last 10 years have seen dramatic progress in the Langlands program for p-adic groups, partly due to the introduction of Arthur packets. Since Arthur packets are defined only for inner forms of quasisplit classical groups, and well understood mainly for quasisplit classical groups themselves, the current scope of the Langlands correspondence is limited to these groups and admissible representations of Arthur type. The Voganish Project seeks to extend these notions using a microlocal study of perverse sheaves on a moduli space of Langlands parameters.
The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT).
