Description

The Banff International Research Station will host the "Local properties in graphs that imply global cycle properties" workshop in Banff from August 2 to August 9.

The development of graph theory has been profoundly influenced by the evolution of the internet and resulting large communication networks. Of particular interest are global properties of such networks that can be deduced from their local properties. Local properties are often easier to determine than global properties of the network. We are interested in showing that certain global properties of a network hold if they satisfy certain local conditions.

The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT).
