Description
The "Universal Higher Extensions" workshop will be hosted at The Banff International Research Station.
In this project we endeavor to forge a confluence of two developments presented in very recent work of the applicants. While these developments are quite different in nature, they complement each other with a promise of broad applications.rnrnThis proposal is particularly opportunistic and timely, as both applicants reached their respective insights only within the last four to six weeks and had worked up to then unaware of each other's existence. To combine these insights and carry them further, we need to meet in person in a setting which enables us to fully devote ourselves to the task at hand. -- For this the `Research in Teams'-program at BIRS is the ideal venue.
The Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery (BIRS) is a collaborative Canada-US-Mexico venture that provides an environment for creative interaction as well as the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and methods within the Mathematical Sciences, with related disciplines and with industry. The research station is located at The Banff Centre in Alberta and is supported by Canada's Natural Science and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the US National Science Foundation (NSF), Alberta's Advanced Education and Technology, and Mexico's Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologí255a (CONACYT).
